For every book: when it was composed (both the traditional and the critical scholarly ranges, cited), and the oldest physical copy that survives. The horizontal gap between composition and earliest witness is the span a text traveled by copying — and for much of the Bible, the Dead Sea Scrolls shrank that gap by a thousand years.
